The Will County Division of Transportation (DOT) is holding two public information meetings about the future of Wilmington-Peotone Road, between Interstate 55 and Drecksler Road.

County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant has released a statement following yesterday's vote by the County Board to approve a balanced Fiscal Year 2024 Budget. The budget contains several special allocations for public safety, social services, and essential government services.

Will County and Lewis University will hold their annual pumpkin catapult event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 4, at 1 University Parkway in Romeoville.

The Will County Resource Recovery and Energy (RRE) Division is now offering free fire extinguisher recycling, with year-round drop-off locations available in New Lenox, Peotone, and Wheatland Township.

The Workforce Services Division (WSD) of Will County is partnering with the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) to host an Ability Career Fair for Individuals with Disabilities from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25 at the Romeoville Athletic & Event Center, 55 Phelps Ave, Romeoville, IL 60446. Representatives from several local businesses and resource organizations will be spotlighting open positions and resources at the event.

Allison Anderson, Will County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Director, has been appointed Co-Chair of the State of Illinois Homeland Security Advisory Council’s Emergency Management Committee. In her role, she will be collaborating with experts to shape emergency preparedness strategies at the state and local level.
