County Executive Appoints 23 Residents to Boards and Commissions

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant named 23 residents to 10 boards and commissions in April. This included seven fire protection districts, one cemetery association, the Will County Board of Health, and the Will County Historic Preservation Commission. The appointments were approved by the County Board at its monthly meeting on Thursday, April 21.

Will County to Host Three Spring Electronics and Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Events

Events in Peotone, Joliet, and Bolingbrook will also serve as rain barrel pick-up locations

To promote the proper disposal of household electronics and hazardous waste items, the Will County Land Use Department’s Resource Recovery and Energy Division is hosting three spring drop-off events throughout the county. The events will be held in Peotone, Joliet, and Bolingbrook

Will County Emergency Management Agency to Conduct Full-Scale Training Exercise on April 6

The Will County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) and the Illinois Emergency Management Agency will be conducting an inter-agency response exercise on Wednesday, April 6 in Romeoville. The exercise will involve minor road closures and an increased presence of first responders in the community.

Lead Agency Selected for Will County Continuum of Care Network

United Way of Will County will lead efforts to prevent and end homelessness in Will, Kendall, and Grundy Counties

The United Way of Will County has been selected to serve as the new Lead Agency for the Will County Continuum of Care (CoC) network, a collaborative partnership of local organizations dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness in Will, Kendall, and Grundy Counties. The selection was made by the CoC’s Governance & Oversight Council and the transition will be complete June 1.

Allison Anderson Confirmed as Director of the Will County Emergency Management Agency

Will serve as agency’s fourth director

County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant has appointed Allison Anderson as Director of the Will County Emergency Management Agency. She is succeeding Harold Damron, who retired this month after a 31-year career with the agency. Anderson’s appointment was confirmed today by the Will County Board.

Will County to Receive Federal Funding for Health and Safety Projects

$975,000 included in FY22 Omnibus Appropriations Bill for three Will County projects

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant announced today that three Community Project Funding (CPF) requests made by the county were included in the federal FY22 Omnibus Appropriations Bill. The $975,000 in federal funding will support critical local needs, including upgrades to the East Joliet Sanitary District, investment in a behavioral health workforce initiative, and supporting the county’s Opioid Overdose Intervention Program. The spending package was signed into law today by President Joe Biden.
 

Will County to Spotlight Employment Opportunities at Career Fair

Event offers opportunity for residents to learn about working for the county

County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant and the Workforce Services Division of Will County will be hosting a Will County Career Fair to highlight open positions with various county departments. The event will be held from 9:00 a.m. until noon on Thursday, March 24 at the Will County Office Building, 302 N. Chicago Street in Joliet.
