Will County residents are invited to attend free virtual or in-person “Solar Power Hour” events to learn about the benefits of using solar energy and how to participate in a group buy to reduce costs.

The Will County Five-Year Transportation Improvement Program, providing a multi-year plan for countywide infrastructure investments, has been officially approved by the Will County Board.

The Will County Division of Transportation (WCDOT) presented the plan, which will provide over 20 miles of improved highways, 30 reconstructed intersections, and 10 rehabilitated or replaced structure. The $568.6 million investment in local infrastructure will be funded from a mix of federal, state, and local revenue.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant appointed six residents to the board and commissions in June. The appointments were approved by the County Board at its monthly meeting on Thursday, June 16.

With high temperatures throughout the region and an Excessive Heat Warning in place, Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant and the Will County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) are reminding residents to utilize local cooling centers if necessary. There are cooling centers available in almost every community in the county, including in village halls, fire stations, libraries, or other public meeting sites. Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant appointed two residents to the Workforce Investment Board of Will County in May. The appointments were approved by the County Board at its monthly meeting on Thursday, May 19.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant named 23 residents to 10 boards and commissions in April. This included seven fire protection districts, one cemetery association, the Will County Board of Health, and the Will County Historic Preservation Commission. The appointments were approved by the County Board at its monthly meeting on Thursday, April 21.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant welcomes the public to the annual Textile Collection Event at the Will County Office Building, from Monday, May 2 to Friday, May 8.

County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant has appointed Denise Maiolo as Director of the Will County Human Resources Department. Maiolo’s appointment was confirmed by the Will County Board.
