Will County’s Workforce Services Division is hosting a Job Fair on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Workforce Center of Will County, 2400 Glenwood Ave, Joliet. The fair gives an opportunity for residents to meet face-to-face with 16 local employers.

Will County hosted nearly a dozen high school and college interns in various departments over the Summer, offering an opportunity for these talented students to work closely with department leadership and staff to assist with projects in their area of studies and to gain real-world experience critical for their career-development.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant delivered her annual State of the County address at the August meeting of the Will County Board. In her address, Bertino-Tarrant spotlighted the growing Will County economy and continued efforts by county government to improve services for residents.

Will County, the City of Joliet, and the Joliet Slammers are teaming up to host Water Conservation Night during the Tuesday, August 26 Slammers game against the Washington Wild Things at Duly Health and Care Field in Joliet.

Parents in Will County can now register to have free, high-quality, and age-appropriate books mailed directly to their children from birth until their fifth birthday. 

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Will County this week Wednesday (7/23/25) and Thursday (7/24/25), with heat index values reaching above 100 degrees. The Will County Emergency Management Agency is advising residents to take precautions. 

The Will County Division of Transportation (DOT) will host a Public Information Meeting to present an identified improvement option for the Mills Road-Cherry Hill Road Phase I Study from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5 at the Nowell Park Recreation Center, 199 Mills Road, Joliet.

Local first responders, school safety personnel, and emergency management agencies from across the region will gather at the University of St. Francis Main Campus in Joliet for a full-scale School Reunification Exercise on Wednesday, July 23. The public is advised of an increased presence of emergency vehicles in the vicinity from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on that day.
