County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant joined County Board leadership in highlighting accomplishments in the Fiscal Year 2022 Annual Budget, which invests in key priorities while maintaining balanced spending. The $793 million package, which was passed unanimously today by the County Board, increases funding for public safety agencies, the Children’s Advocacy Center, and the Will-Ride transportation program.

Will County Green to Host Document Shredding, Electronics Recycling, and Pumpkin Catapult at Lewis University

Will County and Lewis University will host the sixth annual “Catapult a Pumpkin” event from 9:00 a.m. until noon, Saturday, Nov. 6 in the “W” parking lot South of the main entrance of Lewis University in Romeoville. The event offers residents an opportunity to safely dispose of pumpkins, electronics, and documents.

Will County today announced that it will be receiving a $200,000 grant from Pace Suburban Bus (Pace) to evaluate paratransit services in the county and identify future improvements. Pace announced the funding at the Oct. 21st meeting of the Will County Board.

Will County Partnering with City of Joliet and Local Organizations to host community needs meetings

To offer residents and local business owners an opportunity to voice ideas about community investment, Will County is partnering with the City of Joliet and local organizations to host R3 (Restore, Reinvest, and Renew) neighborhood resident meetings. These meetings will focus on solutions regarding the five pillars of civil legal aid, economic development, re-entry, violence prevention, and youth development.

Will County will join the Illinois Energy Conservation Authority to host an information session for commercial property owners on the Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) program on Monday, October 25. C-PACE is a program that offers low-cost, long-term financing to local businesses for energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, electric vehicle charging and other clean energy projects.

Sunny Hill Nursing Home residents and staff participate in annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Yearly event raises funds and awareness about Alzheimer’s Disease

For more than 15 years, the staff and residents of Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet have participated in the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Traditionally, the event would be held at a local forest preserve and be open to the community. However, in consideration of resident participation Sunny Hill elected to accommodate the event on campus. Additionally, Covid-19 mitigations changed the way the local event was organized.
