The Will County Division of Transportation (DOT) will hold a Public Information Meeting to share improvement options and hear public input for the Mills Road-Cherry Hill Road Phase I Study. The meeting will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 in Rooms C and D at the Nowell Park Recreation Center, 199 Mills Road, Joliet, IL 60433.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant and the Will County Community Development Division will be hosting a community event from 10 AM to 3 PM on June 22 at the Fairmont Community Center, 525 Barry Avenue. The event will feature family-friendly activities, a resource fair, a food giveaway, and a community planning activity focused on the future of the Fairmont neighborhood.

A “Healthy Lifestyle Event” will be hosted in Joliet to provide produce, vegetables, and healthcare resources on Friday, June 21 at All Nation Church of God, 507 Water Street.

The Workforce Services Division will host a Job Fair from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on May 29th at the Lockport Township Building, 1463 Farrell Road. The event is free and open to the public.

The Will County Resource Recovery and Energy (RRE) Division will host its annual three-day book event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, May 31, and Saturday-Sunday, June 1-2, at Joliet Park District’s Pilcher Park Nature Center, 2501 Highland Park Drive.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant and ShareFest Will County will host a free food giveaway event on Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 9 a.m. until noon (or while supplies last) at the Will County Office Building located at 302 N. Chicago Street, Joliet, IL 60432.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant invites families to attend a fun-filled Kids’ Fair on Monday, Feb. 19 from 9 a.m. to noon at Troy Middle School, 5800 W. Theodore St., Plainfield, IL. The free event features interactive and educational activities from local organizations, businesses, and government agencies.

The Will County Division of Transportation (WCDOT) will host two virtual open houses to gather feedback on the future of transportation priorities in Will County. The feedback will be incorporated in the ongoing “Our Way Forward 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan,” which will guide the next 25 years of county-wide infrastructure projects.

The Will County Resource Recovery and Energy Division offers year-round recycling for electronics, including string lights. There are also three Joliet drop-box locations for only string light recycling that will be up until January 31, 2024.

The Will County Executive Office is partnering with Christ Pantry in Joliet to host a Community Care Fair on Saturday November 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church (402 Singleton Place, Joliet, IL 60436).
