A “Healthy Lifestyle Event” will be hosted in Joliet to provide produce, vegetables, and healthcare resources on Friday, June 21 at All Nation Church of God, 507 Water Street.

The Will County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is advising residents to take precautions during an anticipated stretch of extreme heat during Father’s Day Weekend and the following week.

The expanded testing services are now available at the Will County Health Department’s branch offices in Monee and Bolingbrook, along with the existing Joliet location at the Will County Health Department’s main office.

The Will County Resource Recovery and Energy (RRE) Division will host its annual three-day book event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, May 31, and Saturday-Sunday, June 1-2, at Joliet Park District’s Pilcher Park Nature Center, 2501 Highland Park Drive.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant and ShareFest Will County will host a free food giveaway event on Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 9 a.m. until noon (or while supplies last) at the Will County Office Building located at 302 N. Chicago Street, Joliet, IL 60432.

Will County has launched a grant opportunity for early child care providers to improve or expand services. $225,000 has been made available for licensed providers to pursue grant funding for educational materials, developmental support services, or improvements to physical space and technology.

Will County Animal Protection Services (WCAPS) has launched their new adoption program, allowing residents to adopt pets directly through the department. The adoption program follows sweeping changes to Will County animal welfare policies in response to a nationwide increase in animal shelter populations.

U.S. Representative Robin Kelly (IL-02) and Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant have announced the approval of $500,000 in federal appropriations for the Eastern Will County Truck Routing Project. The project, aimed at reducing congestion in Eastern Will County, is part of the Fiscal Year 2024 government appropriations packaged approved by Congress and signed by President Joe Biden.
