Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant signed a proclamation today officially recognizing June 19 as Juneteenth Day of Observance in Will County. Juneteenth is a recognized county holiday for Will County government. All county buildings will be closed on the holiday, with the exception of essential county services and public safety operations.

A “Healthy Lifestyle Event” will be hosted in Joliet to provide produce, vegetables, and healthcare resources on Friday, June 21 at All Nation Church of God, 507 Water Street.

The Will County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is advising residents to take precautions during an anticipated stretch of extreme heat during Father’s Day Weekend and the following week.

Will County's Resource Recovery and Energy Division hosted their annual Book Reuse and Recycling Event last week at the Joliet Park District's Pilcher Park Nature Center. The event welcomed over 1,800 residents who dropped off or picked up books for free. 

The Will County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) hosted a hands-on training for first responders in Monee, aimed at bringing together police, fire, and dispatch agencies to coordinate effectively on various active threat incidents.

The Workforce Services Division will host a Job Fair from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on May 29th at the Lockport Township Building, 1463 Farrell Road. The event is free and open to the public.

The Will County Health Department and Will County’s Sunny Hill Tuberculosis Clinic have announced a new collaboration to expand Tuberculosis (TB) testing availability to Will County residents. The expanded testing services are now available at the Will County Health Department’s branch offices in Monee and Bolingbrook, along with the existing Joliet location at the Will County Health Department’s main office.

The Will County Resource Recovery and Energy (RRE) Division will host its annual three-day book event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, May 31, and Saturday-Sunday, June 1-2, at Joliet Park District’s Pilcher Park Nature Center, 2501 Highland Park Drive.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant and ShareFest Will County will host a free food giveaway event on Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 9 a.m. until noon (or while supplies last) at the Will County Office Building located at 302 N. Chicago Street, Joliet, IL 60432.

The Will County Land Use Department’s Resource Recovery and Energy Division will host a collection event from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 11 in Beecher.
