Will County officials celebrate new courthouse parking lot

     Will County Executive Larry Walsh, County Board members Ragan Freitag and Herb Brooks joined Will County Chief Judge Richard Schoenstedt, Circuit Clerk Pam McGuire and Joliet Mayor Bob O’Dekirk today to officially open the newly constructed parking lot on the site of the former Eagle Building, at 20 W. Washington in downtown Joliet. The new 21-space lot will increase parking around the county courthouse.

Health Center to offer free, confidential teen clinic

     The Will County Community Health Center is now offering a special Teen Clinic from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. every Friday for county residents. The free and confidential services are especially designed for teen clients and will include family planning, birth control, and health education. The clinic is open to residents from 12 to 21 years of age.

More than a million screened

Will County Executive Larry Walsh has his hearing screened – for a second time – by Hope Cathelyn, the county’s Chief Vision and Hearing Screening Technician during the organization’s 50th anniversary celebration on Aug. 26.

Rabid bat found in Joliet

Fifth rabid bat reported in Will County

     Will County health officials said a fifth rabid bat has been reported. A bat was found Aug. 17 in a house in the 500 block of Bannett Street in Joliet. 

Will County Issues Bonds

Moving Will County Projects Forward -- Will County Executive Larry Walsh (center) signed off on the issuance of $175 million in General Obligation, Alternate Revenue Source bonds for the county on August 18, 2016.  Proceeds from the sale of these bonds will be used to finance a new Public Safety Complex, a new Judicial Complex, a new Health department building, and a northern court satellite location. 

Will County to host Youth Provider Summit on September 30, 2016

     Registration is open for the Will County Youth Provider Summit scheduled for Friday, September 30.  Hosted by the Workforce Investment Board of Will County, the Summit will offer education and networking opportunities for individuals and groups who work with youth in the community, including those in education, support services and health fields.
