"Grandparents Day" to be Held in Romeoville on September 13

A “Grandparents Day” will be held for Will County seniors on September 13th, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Romeoville Athletic and Event Center located at 55 Phelps Avenue in Romeoville. The event is being hosted as a collaboration between the Village of Romeoville, Senior Services of Will County, State Representative Natalie Manley, Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, State Senator Meg Loughran Cappel, and State Representative Dee Avelar. 

Business Owners Invited to Free Workshop on Illinois Business Enterprise Program

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, the Will County Center for Economic Development (CED), and the State of Illinois Commission on Equity and Inclusion invites business owners to attend a free in-person workshop to learn about the Illinois Business Enterprise Program (BEP) and local resources. The workshop will take place on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. at the Joliet Public Library, 150 N. Ottawa St., Joliet.

Will County Animal Control Joins Chicagoland Humane Coalition

Will County’s Animal Control Department has joined the Chicagoland Humane Coalition, a collaborative organization working to addressing pressing animal welfare issues in the region. Will County was invited to join the coalition due to its ongoing efforts to take a more proactive approach to animal services and provide resources to local pet owners.

With an upcoming stretch of high temperatures expected in Illinois, the Will County Emergency Management Agency is advising residents of measures they can take during severe heat conditions to stay safe and healthy. These measures include being mindful of heat-related illnesses and being aware of the availability of local cooling centers. 

Will County Officials Attend Lion Electric Grand Opening

County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant and other local officials joined Governor Pritzker, Senator Duckworth, and Senator Durbin to celebrate the grand opening of Lion Electric’s new 900,000 square-foot facility in Joliet. This facility is a major investment into the local community and solidifies Will County’s emerging role as a nationwide clean energy leader.
