Area job seekers have another way to get their resumes in front of businesses with positions to fill thanks to the unveiling of the Workforce Services Division’s Resume Gallery.
Will County WSD launched its most recent no-cost offering for residents looking for work on Jan. 20. It was designed in response to discussions with businesses and workers looking for a way to keep resumes of local people from becoming buried on large sites, said Scott Kettman, Business Services/Special Projects Supervisor for WSD.

Will County Executive Larry Walsh has invited local transportation and business leaders to officially kick off the start of “Will Connects 2040”, the County’s initiative to update its current long range transportation plan. Will Connects 2040 will establish a strategic direction and set priorities for future transportation investments throughout the County while considering all modes and modal connections, including roads, transit, bicycle and pedestrian, aviation, intermodal networks, and freight.

JOLIET – The Mobile Workforce Center’s February schedule has been announced by the Workforce Services Division of Will County.
The mobile unit travels throughout Will County to help residents with resume development, cover letters and job applications. The workforce center contains 11 computer stations, internet access, and offers keyboarding lessons, as well as resume and job search assistance using online listings including jobs4people.org and Illinois workNet

Participants will learn interviewing techniques at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, in Successful Interviewing. Learn how to prepare for a job interview, be confident and make a positive impression. Attendees may schedule an individual, digitally recorded mock interview after completing the workshop.

Will County’s Prairie View Landfill closure date has been extended to 2042 with the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act. President Obama signed the new Act into law in December.
As part of the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant (Plant) decommissioned agreement, the landfill must accept all wastes generated from the cleanup of the former Plant free of charge as part of the agreement to transfer the federal property ownership to Will County.

Will County now has extra tools to use during emergencies and disasters when power is needed. The County’s Emergency Management Agency (EMA) recently received a fleet of five generator trailers provided through an Illinois Terrorism Task Force program. These generators have been allocated to twelve groups across the state.
