Join Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, Health Department Executive Director Susan Olenek, Illinois Department of Public Health Assistant Director Dr. Amaal Tokars, and other county and local leaders, and members of the health community to celebrate a ribbon cutting of the Will County Health Complex, located at 501 Ella Ave.

Join us as we commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9-11 and remember those who were lost that day.

This year’s Hero Helps Community Summit, set for Oct. 15 at the Romeoville Athletic and Event Center, will feature Dr. Rebecca Baker, from the National Institute of Health HEALS (Helping to End Addiction Long Term) Initiative, and David Jones, from the Illinois Department of Human Services, who will speak about national and state initiatives in the continued battle against opioid use.

The Workforce Center of Will County (WCWC) offers a wide variety of services to assist both job seekers and employers with employment needs. These services include classes on resume writing, practicing interview skills, and updating computer proficiency. The center also provides information about career scholarships and on the job training. These services are available from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday in the center’s Resource Room.

The Mobile Workforce Center travels throughout Will County offering a variety of services for job seekers, including computers with internet access for online applications and job searches, the ability to create/revise a competitive résumé and an online job board with listings from Will County businesses. At today’s meeting of the Will County Board, County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant delivered the annual State of the County address in which she highlighted the accomplishments and acknowledged the challenges during an unprecedented year amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the number of positive COVID-19 cases across the nation continues to rise, Will County health officials are promoting safe, accessible vaccinations in all parts of the county.

The stage is set for the 10th anniversary of the Hero Helps Community Forum to be held from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 15 at the Romeoville Athletic and Events Center.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant is announcing new protocols around face coverings at Will County Buildings. Starting Monday, August 2, the public, both vaccinated and unvaccinated, will be required to wear a mask or face covering upon entering any county building and during any time spent in county buildings.
