While nearly half the population of Will County is fully vaccinated, local officials are cautioning residents to continue COVID-19 precautions as the number of Delta variant cases are increasing. These precautions include frequent hand washing, social distancing and wearing a mask in public places for those who are unvaccinated.

After more than a decade of discussions, local officials gathered on July 20 to officially break ground on the Houbolt Bridge, part of the Houbolt Road extension, spanning the Des Plaines River and connecting I-80 to the Centerpoint Intermodal Center.

During a multi-chamber luncheon hosted July 6 by the Romeoville Chamber of Commerce, County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant addressed important information regarding economic stimulus, transportation plans, and ongoing COVID-19 relief programs.

The Will County Office Building will be closed on Monday, July 5 in observance of the July 4 holiday.
Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, July 6.

The Romeoville Chamber of Commerce, along with Joliet, Lockport, Plainfield, and Bolingbrook chambers, is hosting Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant as guest speaker for a multi-chamber luncheon at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6 at the Mistwood Golf Club, 1700 Renwick Road in Romeoville.

NEXT APPLICATION PHASE SET TO OPEN JUNE 28

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant announced today that 2,607 completed applications totaling $28,469,349 in rental assistance have been received through the Illinois Rental Payment Program (ILRPP) during the first phase of the relief initiative.

Three Will County employees, with a combined 79 years of service, were honored with proclamations for their retirements during the regularly scheduled County Board meeting on Thursday, June 17.

Over the past few years the Will County Active Threat Task Force has been training local first responder agencies for active threat scenarios. This Task Force is made up of law enforcement, fire departments and emergency management agencies.
