Will County Officials encourage residents to continue COVID-19 precautions

While nearly half the population of Will County is fully vaccinated, local officials are cautioning residents to continue COVID-19 precautions as the number of Delta variant cases are increasing. These precautions include frequent hand washing, social distancing and wearing a mask in public places for those who are unvaccinated.

After more than a decade of discussions, local officials gathered on July 20 to officially break ground on the Houbolt Bridge, part of the Houbolt Road extension, spanning the Des Plaines River and connecting I-80 to the Centerpoint Intermodal Center.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant announced today that 2,607 completed applications totaling $28,469,349 in rental assistance have been received through the Illinois Rental Payment Program (ILRPP) during the first phase of the relief initiative.
