     The 2016 HERO-HELPS-Southwest Coalition Community Summit slated for April 29 at the Edward Hospital Athletic and Event Center in Romeoville, will include State Representative Lou Lang (D-16) who will present a specific outline of the new Heroin Crisis Act. Lang was the chief sponsor of House Bill 001 which ultimately became this new law. 

Will County launches quarterly newsletter Newsletter offers another medium to inform residents of county services

JOLIET –The Will County Executive’s office on Tuesday, Feb. 16, launched a quarterly newsletter designed to inform residents about services and special events available to them. The newsletter will be hosted on the county website and residents may also sign up for subscriptions

Will County making great strides in 9-1-1 dispatch consolidation;

Legislation mandates reduction in dispatch centers for improved efficiency

     Over the past few months, members of the Will County ETSB (Emergency Telephone System Board), and other public safety stakeholders, have been meeting to discuss options for consolidation of the county’s six 9-1-1 dispatch centers. The passage of Public Act 99-0006 in May 2015, requires Will County to reduce from the existing six centers to three regional dispatch centers across the County.

Public Invited to Attend January Open Houses

The Will County Division of Transportation will be hosting five (5) Open Houses throughout the County in January for Will Connects 2040, the County's Long Range Transportation Plan. The public is invited to attend one or all of the Open Houses to provide input on transportation investment priorities throughout Will County. This is the second round of Will Connects 2040 public meetings; the first series of Open Houses were held in late Spring/early Summer 2015.
