The Will County Land Use Department’s Resource Recovery and Energy Division and Lewis University once again are teaming up to offer an environmentally sound way to get rid of jack-o-lanterns and documents.

Workforce Services Division of Will County has announced the Mobile Workforce Center’s November schedule, with stops in six communities.

Area job seekers are invited to attend a weekly job fair at the Workforce Center of Will County from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19.

At today’s meeting of the Will County Board, members passed a resolution advancing county efforts to seek funding from the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) to continue paratransit services for residents in eastern Will County. The county is seeking $248,000 to fund this program.

Applications must be submitted by May 5, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. to the Will County Community Development Division, 58 E. Clinton St., Suite 100, Joliet, IL.  Proposals may be mailed or hand delivered.

THE WILL COUNTY BOARD EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE, IN COOPERATION WITH OTHER AGENCIES AND WILL COUNTY ELECTED OFFICIALS, WILL HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING DURING ITS MONTHLY COUNTY BOARD MEETING ON THURSDAY, JUNE 16, 2016, AT 9:30 A.M., IN THE WILL COUNTY BOARD ROOM, 302 NORTH CHICAGO STREET, SECOND FLOOR, JOLIET, IL., TO DISCUSS THE ALLOCATION OF THE 2016 JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM. 

     The 2016 HERO-HELPS-Southwest Coalition Community Summit slated for April 29 at the Edward Hospital Athletic and Event Center in Romeoville, will include State Representative Lou Lang (D-16) who will present a specific outline of the new Heroin Crisis Act. Lang was the chief sponsor of House Bill 001 which ultimately became this new law. 

JOLIET –The Will County Executive’s office on Tuesday, Feb. 16, launched a quarterly newsletter designed to inform residents about services and special events available to them. The newsletter will be hosted on the county website and residents may also sign up for subscriptions
