Workforce Services Division of Will County to Hold Ability Career Fair for Individuals with Disabilities

The Workforce Services Division (WSD) of Will County is partnering with the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) to host an Ability Career Fair for Individuals with Disabilities from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25 at the Romeoville Athletic & Event Center, 55 Phelps Ave, Romeoville, IL 60446. Representatives from several local businesses and resource organizations will be spotlighting open positions and resources at the event.

Will County EMA Director Appointed to Lead State Advisory Committee

Allison Anderson, Will County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Director, has been appointed Co-Chair of the State of Illinois Homeland Security Advisory Council’s Emergency Management Committee. In her role, she will be collaborating with experts to shape emergency preparedness strategies at the state and local level.

Will County Division of Transportation Holding Public Information Meeting for Study of Mills Road and Cherry Hill Road Corridor

The Will County Division of Transportation (DOT) will hold an open house Public Information Meeting to hear feedback on possible improvements to Mills Road and Cherry Hill Road in unincorporated Joliet Township, the City of Joliet, and the Village of New Lenox. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. at the Nowell Park Recreation Center, Rooms C & D, 199 Mills Rd, Joliet, IL 60433.

Local Pet Businesses and Resource Providers Gather in Plainfield for Pet Expo

Will County pet owners attended a special Pet Expo just for their four-legged friends in Plainfield on Saturday, September 30, 2023. Dozens of dogs and their human owners stopped by Clow Stephens Park for the 2-hour expo, which was organized and hosted by a partnership between the Plainfield Park District, State Senator Meg Loughran Cappel, State Representative Natalie Manley, and Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant.

Will County Animal Control Seeking Information on Washington Township Dog Abuse Case

The Will County Animal Control Department is seeking the public’s assistance in providing information that could lead to identifying suspects of an animal abuse case, including information about the owner or possible perpetrators. The dog was found wandering on a local farm in unincorporated Washington Township, near the Village of Beecher, with clear signs of abuse and neglect, such as paintball spots from being used as target practice. 

Will County and City of Joliet Partner with Three Rivers Association of REALTORS® on free Housing Provider Resource Workshop

Formerly known as the annual Joliet Landlord Conference, this free event will be open to housing providers in the Three Rivers Association of REALTORS® service area, which includes Will and Grundy Counties, as well as to communities in surrounding areas.

The Three Rivers Association of REALTORS®, the Will County Land Use Department Community Development Division, and the City of Joliet have partnered to present a free Local Housing Provider Resource Workshop. Experts will educate housing providers on available resources and connect them with other services providers to help them improve their operations. It also is an opportunity to network with local agencies and organizations. 

Will County Executive Provides Update on ARPA Library Investments

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant is spotlighting $1.2 million in grant opportunities being provided to local library districts as part of the county’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) allocations. The funding is supporting ongoing efforts to expand service and address needs from 21 Will County library districts.
