County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant is hosting a pop-up event in Monee for Will County residents to receive free, fresh fruits and vegetables. The drive-up event is on Tuesday, September 23 at New Hope Christian Community Church, 4700 W. Court St. in Monee and is available to all Will County residents.

Will County’s Resource Recovery & Energy Division has released its Fall 2025 Will County Green recycling and collection event schedule. The schedule includes collection events for electronics, household items, household hazardous waste, motor oil, scrap metal, and other items.

Will County’s Workforce Services Division is hosting a Job Fair on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Workforce Center of Will County, 2400 Glenwood Ave, Joliet. The fair gives an opportunity for residents to meet face-to-face with 16 local employers.

The Will County Division of Transportation (DOT) will host a Public Information Meeting to present an identified improvement option for the Mills Road-Cherry Hill Road Phase I Study from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5 at the Nowell Park Recreation Center, 199 Mills Road, Joliet.

Will County Celebrates 190 Years

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant is kicking off a year-long celebration of Will County’s 190th Anniversary, which will include a partnership with the Will County Historic Preservation Commission to spotlight local historic sites and milestones under the theme “Celebrating 190 Years of Community.” The county was officially founded on January 12, 1836, when it was incorporated by the State of Illinois.
