I am honored to serve as your Will County Executive. As a lifelong resident of this great county, I have witnessed many changes as we have evolved from an ag-community to a major hub in the global distribution market. I am dedicated to building upon this status but I am equally dedicated to maintaining the quality of life for the nearly 700,000 residents and thousands of businesses and organizations that call Will County home.

WILL COUNTY RESIDENTS ENCOURAGED TO TAKE QUALITY OF LIFE SURVEY

MAPP Program Collaborative Seeks Your Input

This survey, put together by the Will County Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) Collaborative, is available online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/willcosurvey; or in Spanish at https://es.surveymonkey.com/r/willcosurveysp. The survey is confidential and takes approximately ten minutes to complete.

This is the chance for Will County residents to be heard on issues such as jobs, safety, opportunities for kids, transportation, health-related issues, and much more. Answers to this survey, combined with demographic data on those who respond, will be analyzed in order to produce a strategic plan for the future of Will County and its most urgent needs.

A recent example of what surveys like this can lead to was seen with the proposal for a new 100 bed psychiatric hospital at the Silver Cross campus. Silver Cross Senior Vice-President and Chief Strategy Officer Ruth Colby, a long-standing member of the MAPP Executive Committee, stated that it was the work of the Will County Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships Collaborative that really made her realize the need for that proposed behavioral health facility.

Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP) is a community-wide strategic planning approach to assessing community needs and improving community health. County-wide initiatives from the MAPP Collaborative include the Know Where to Go and Rethink Your Drink campaigns, as well as the worksite wellness award WeWill WorkHealthy.
