Crisis Foster & Temporary Care Programs
When unexpected life events occur, temporary foster care can help keep pets safe while their owners recover stability. These programs provide short-term foster placement for individuals facing emergencies such as hospitalization, displacement, or domestic crisis.
Programs include:
• PAWS Chicago – Crisis Foster Care Program:

• The Anti-Cruelty Society – SAFE Program:

These organizations work closely with pet owners to ensure pets receive proper care until they can return home.
Community Support & Assistance Resources
In addition to WCAPS’ programs, several nearby organizations provide ongoing assistance to pet owners, including low-cost veterinary care, behavioral support, and access to pet food pantries.
