Will County Video Gaming Applicants

On July 18, 2024, the Will County Board passed resolution #24-184 repealing the prohibition of video gaming in unincorporated Will County. The newly established Will County Video Gaming License is available to existing Will County Liquor Licensees with a Terminal Operator User Agreement eligible for an Illinois Video Gaming License pursuant to the Illinois Video Gaming Act (230 ILCS 40).

A video gaming license is required for the operation of video gaming terminals in the county in territory subject to the control of the County (unincorporated Will County).

In our continuing commitment to maintain accessibility, transparency and fiscal responsibility in the Will County Government; the County Executive Office has provided applicants online access to the required applications and forms required to obtain a video gaming license in Will County.

The Will County Video Gaming Ordinance (July 18, 2024 amendments forthcoming) is available for viewing or download.

To begin the process of applying for a video gaming license, applicants should first review the following "Application Process" below for a summary on the process.

Application Process

The Will County Code of Ordinances was updated on July 18, 2024 to allow for Video Gaming in unincorporated Will County.

A fee of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) shall be imposed upon the operation of each video gaming terminal, within the geographical boundaries of unincorporated Will County. The cost of any fee imposed under Will County's Code of Ordinance shall be shared equally between the terminal operator and the applicable licensed establishment, licensed veterans establishment, licensed truck stop establishment, licensed large truck stop establishment, or licensed fraternal establishment.

Please note, renewal applications will be reviewed to determine if an establishment continues to meet the criteria for licensure annually.

The last day for acceptance of payment is FEBRUARY 1, no later than 4:00 p.m. Failure to timely apply for a renewal may result in the denial of your video gaming license for next year. If you have any questions, please contact Maria Acosta at (815) 774-7485.

Renewal application and payment will be accepted via mail, in-person or online at the Will County Executive Office, 2nd floor of the Will County Office Building, 302 North Chicago Street, Joliet, Illinois 60432 between the hours of 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M..
