The Resource Recovery and Energy Division of the Will County Land Use Department hosted an event on Sat. Nov. 9 at the Will County Fairgrounds to offer residents an easy way to dispose of unwanted tires.

The Will County Office Building will be closed on Monday, November 11 in observance of Veterans' Day. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, November 12.

During a meeting of the RUSH (Residents United for Safer Highways) held Thursday night at the New Lenox Village Hall, transportation experts and the Will County Executive’s staff explained plans and ideas to manage heavy truck traffic and improve safety on roadways in the region.

The Workforce Center of Will County will host a job fair from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 14 at its location in Suite 100, 2400 Glenwood Avenue in Joliet.

The Workforce Center of Will County will partner with Goodwill Workforce Connection Center to offer a special customer service training from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 at its location in Suite 100, 2400 Glenwood Avenue in Joliet.

Officials from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) presented a check for more than $33,000 to the Will County Center for Community Concerns (WCCCC) to support the agency’s comprehensive housing counseling program. HUD awarded more than $42 million in housing counseling grants in Opportunity Zones across the nation, with $1.3 million allocated in Illinois.

The Workforce Center of Will County is partnering with Frankfort Township to host a job fair from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Weds., Nov. 6 at the Frankfort Township office, 11000 W. Lincoln Highway, Frankfort.

The Workforce Center of Will County has released the November schedule for workshops and events. From developing or updating a resume, to brushing up on interviewing skills, the center offers these services and others at no cost to Will County residents.
