Health Center to offer free, confidential teen clinic

The Will County Community Health Center is now offering a special Teen Clinic from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. every Friday for county residents. The free and confidential services are especially designed for teen clients and will include family planning, birth control, and health education. The clinic is open to residents from 12 to 21 years of age.

“We are proud to offer this special clinic for teens in our county,” said Sue Olenek, executive director of the Will County Health Department. “This clinic will accommodate teens who do not have a primary care physician or other access to care. We hope to attract more teens with our later hours that will fit into their busy schedules.”

There is no appointment necessary for this clinic. Residents are encouraged to stop in during the clinic’s hours of 3 p.m. until 6 p.m., every Friday to access these services. Insurance is not required and teens can access these services without parental consent.

“Preventative care is essential to help young people protect their health,” said Mary Maragos, CEO of the Will County Community Health Center. “The services we offer such as family planning counseling can help teens make wise choices to safeguard their health and their futures.”

The Teen Clinic is offered at the Will County Community Health Center, 1106 Neal Avenue in Joliet. For more information, call or text (815) 685-2178.
