Anonym / Tuesday, June 1, 2021 / Categories: News, Press Releases, Home Page June is Pet Preparedness Month The Illinois Emergency Management Agency has designated June as Pet Preparedness Month. “With the increasing temperatures also comes the potential for severe weather,” said Will County Animal Control Director Dr. Michelle Rosseler. “Take some time out to ensure your pets are prepared too. This includes making sure they are up to date on their vaccinations, keeping a recent photo of them handy, and having a pet preparedness kit” Disasters can happen with little to no notice, and all Will County residents are encouraged to create a family disaster plan that includes their pets. “Our Emergency Management Agency has an app, Ready Will County, that can assist residents before, during, and after a disaster”, said Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant. “I encourage all our residents to download this app to make a family plan and be ready for any emergency.” The Ready Will County app includes links for important news and timely alerts, live information on evacuation routes and shelters, emergency preparedness guides, and a five-step process to create an emergency plan for families.
