Workforce Services Division of Will County releases October Mobile Workforce Center Schedule

The Will County Mobile Workforce Center is a state-of-the-art vehicle that travels across the county to offer residents assistance with their career searches. The mobile workforce center is equipped with 11 computer station and Internet access. Resume and career search assistance using online listings, including jobs4people.org and Illinois workNet, are also available on the mobile unit.

The Mobile Workforce Center is staffed by Dave Nichols, a certified career coach and resume writer, who also drives the mobile unit to each location. Nichols can offer personal assistance to those looking to change careers. Will County is the only county in the state of Illinois to operate a mobile workforce center and bring these important career services to residents in their communities.

“We are pleased to offer these personalized career search services across Will County,” said Michelle Stiff, director of the Workforce Center of Will County. “We are also proud to add locations for increased accessibility to our services.”

Every Monday in October the mobile workforce center will be at the Plainfield Public Library, 15025 S. Illinois St., Plainfield from 9:30 a.m. until noon and at the Fountaindale Public Library, 300 W. Briarcliff Road, Bolingbrook, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., except Monday, October 11 in observance of Columbus Day

On Tuesdays, from 9:30 a.m. until noon, the unit will be at the Crete Public Library, 1177 Main St., Crete, and from 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. the center will be at the University Park Village Hall, 44 Town Center Drive, University Park.

Joliet Junior College City Center Campus, 235 N. Chicago Street, Joliet, is the Wednesday stop in October for the mobile workforce center from 9:30 a.m. until noon and from 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

On Thursday, the mobile unit is at the Wilmington Public Library, 201 S. Kankakee Street, all day from 9:30 a.m. until noon and 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Friday. Oct. 1, 15, and 29, the mobile workforce center stops from 9:30 a.m. until noon at the Frankfort Public Library, 21119 S. Pfeiffer Road, and from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Mokena Community Public Library, 11327 W. 195th Street., Mokena.

Friday, Oct. 8, and 22, the mobile unit will stop from 9:30 a.m. until noon and 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the New Lenox Public Library, 120 Veterans Parkway, New Lenox.

While visiting the mobile workforce center, employment seekers can also access several online workshops including LinkedIn Lab, to learn how to use the features of LinkedIn to maximize job searches, and Stand Out Resumes, to learn how to create a competitive resume and cover letter to catch a potential employer’s attention.

These services are free of charge to Will County residents and face coverings are required to utilize the Mobile Workforce Center.
