Job SummaryCurrently assigned to the Monee WCDOT Location. If internal transfers occur prior to starting the position, the successful candidate shall be assigned to either Caton Farm, or Joliet WCDOT Facilities” Operates and maintains a variety of trucks, including pick-up, two (2) and three (3) axle vehicles, dump trucks, snowplows, flatbed trailers, mowing tractors, and various other light equipment. Safely maintains roadways and right of ways within the Will County Division of Transportation system.
Minimum QualificationsHigh school graduation or equivalency preferred. Three (3) years in a Maintenance Worker type position or similar background with operating familiarity of department vehicles and equipment used required. Possession of a valid CDL Class A or B with Air Brakes endorsement required. Must be able to lift, push, pull and move material/equipment weighing up to 50 pounds routinely and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Will be exposed to year-round outdoor weather conditions frequently. Subject to a Criminal Background Check, pre-employment Drug Screening Test and /or Drug and Alcohol Test, Driver’s License Check, and Employee Physical. This position is subject to FMCSA Clearinghouse Pre-employment Queries on any potential new DOT FMCSA regulated driver prior to placement in a safety-sensitive position.
