Job SummaryUnder limited supervision, the position assists the WCDOT Maintenance Administrator in maintaining County Highways and rights-of-way in a safe condition. The WCDOT Maintenance Supervisor may be located at either the Joliet, Monee, or Crest Hill garage as assigned by the WCDOT Maintenance Administrator. The position is accountable to the Will County Engineer, through the WCDOT Maintenance Administrator; responsible for personnel functions, equipment, and activities, as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalency is required Associates Degree in related field required, Bachelor’s Degree (preferred), or Equivalent combination of education, training and leadership experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Familiar with Highway Maintenance and Construction Procedures. Available 24/7 to respond to emergencies on County Highways that may arise in any area of the County. The role may require rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on operational needs and emergencies (e.g., snowstorms). Valid State of Illinois Driver’s License and minimum insurance required by law. Class A CDL License with air brake endorsement is required. Must successfully complete and pass a job-related physical lift assessment. Must possess the ability to pass all required pre-employment screening, including a DOT Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse review, if applicable to the position.
