Job SummaryUnder general supervision, assumes responsibility for tuberculosis management for clients at the Sunny Hill TB Clinic and monitors the medical management of privately treated cases and contacts. This involves clinical skin testing procedures as well as physician visits. • Provides health care planning to Mycobacterium Tuberculosis (MTB) clients and suspects for the duration of their treatment. • Assess, treat, and provide quality care to TB clients. This includes community assessments, contact investigation, and direct observed therapy (DOT), client counseling, education, hospital, jail, long term care facility, and home visits as necessary. • Provides education/information about TB for the client, family, and community utilizing informational literature, videos, and/or lectures. • Maintain medical information of nursing observations, reactions to treatment/medications, and any significant events. • Responsible for computer entry on all positive reactors, clinic patients, and all follow-up care until chart is closed
Minimum QualificationsMust have an Associate’s degree in Nursing and be a Registered Nurse by the State of Illinois or reciprocal state required. One (1) year ambulatory nursing care experience. Community or public health nursing care experience preferred. Required to perform clinic functions during home visits and other community locations. Must have a valid State of Illinois driver’s license and minimum liability insurance.
Salary Range$30.00/hr.
