Will County Land Use Department

Personnel of the Will County Land Use Department are charged by the County Executive and the County Board to serve as the citizens' land use stewards, providing guidance and assistance for the lifecycle development of the built and natural environments within unincorporated and, in some instances, incorporated portions of the County. The individual and collective efforts of Land Use team members accomplish this charge through efficient and effective planning, regulatory and procedural systems that are applied in a transparent, consistent, equitable and courteous manner.

The department consists of four divisions: Administration and Enforcement, Community Development, Development Services, Resource Recovery & Energy (RR&E)

Will County Celebrates “National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month” with Waived Adoption fees and Barktoberfest Event

In celebration of “National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month,” Will County Animal Protection Services (APS) is making it easier for families to bring home a new four-legged friend by waiving adoption fees for all dogs six months and older. They are also inviting all Will County residents to a pet-friendly event, Barktoberfest, being held in Tinley Park on October 9.

Will County residents, businesses, and private nonprofit organizations impacted by recent severe weather are now eligible for low-interest federal disaster loans following the July 27 storms that impacted the region. Local, state, and federal agencies will be visible in various communities over the next week as recovery and assessment efforts continue from the August 11 severe weather.

FY2027 budget proposal leverages internal efficiencies to hold the line on taxes

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant today delivered her annual State of the County and Budget address at the August meeting of the Will County Board, spotlighting accomplishments across county offices that have positively impacted residents. Bertino-Tarrant proposed a Fiscal Year 2027 Annual Budget that leverages efficiencies to hold the line on taxes, with no increases in property taxes.
