Will County “Recyclepalooza” Kicks Off Spring Recycling Events

“Recyclepalooza” returns to Joliet in April, kicking off Will County’s 2026 Spring recycling event season. The popular collections event will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, offering residents a free option for recycling or responsibly disposing of unwanted items.

“Recyclepalooza is the perfect ‘Spring Cleaning’ event, with a long list of recycling or donation opportunities at a convenient, drive-up,” said County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant. “Will County residents are invited to attend the variety of free collection days over the next two months hosted by our Resource Recovery and Energy Division.”

The drive-up event, hosted by the Will County Resource Recovery and Energy Division, is open to people living in communities that are fully or partially in Will County. A wide range of items are accepted, including electronics, household chemicals, hazardous materials, batteries, clothing, wood, small home goods, and many more. Items can be donated for reuse, including reusable clothing, toys, small home goods, and cookware. There is a limit of 3 TVs, 15 light bulbs, and 15 gallons of paint per vehicle.

The event is available by appointment to help regulate traffic and reduce wait-times. More information on the exact location will be emailed upon making an appointment. Appointments can be made by visiting www.willcountygreen.com.

Will County will be hosting several other recycling and collection events throughout Spring:
