Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant Will County Executive

I am honored to serve as your Will County Executive. As a lifelong resident of this great county, I have witnessed many changes as we have evolved from an ag-community to a major hub in the global distribution market.  I am dedicated to building upon this status but I am equally dedicated to maintaining the quality of life for the nearly 700,000 residents and thousands of businesses and organizations that call Will County home.

Please explore our website which is filled with important information about services and departments within the County Executive office as well as connections to other county officials’ websites.

Will County is diverse, vibrant and filled with hard-working people. We have room to grow and we look forward to a great future.

Ask the Career Coach offered every Tuesday

JOLIET – Looking for a job? Have questions about the job search, interviews, how to create a stellar resume or changes to the current job market?

Certified Professional Career Coach Dave Nichols from Will County’s Workforce Services Division facilitates Ask the Career Coach at 2 p.m. every Tuesday on Zoom.

Nichols said the workshops are one hour long. “I try to answer all of the participants’ questions, and I give them my email and phone number if they have more questions after the Zoom meeting. Or they can get on another week if they want to.

“The majority of customers that join in ask if they are doing the right things when it comes to their job search,” he said. “I tell them you must have a great resume and cover letter tailored for the job you are applying for. They also should have a LinkedIn account.”

Nichols added, “Some customers I coach I offer our other workshops or training to get their skills in order.”

Nichols said all of the Workforce Services customers from the last year are emailed the flier with the link. Someone who wishes to participate but does not get the link automatically or has questions about the program, can call (815) 727-4444 and press 0.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, whose office oversees the Workforce Services Division, encourages people looking for jobs to participate.

“We encourage any Will County resident seeking employment to utilize this free resource offered by the county,” said Bertino-Tarrant. “Sometimes a little helpful critique from an experienced coach is all it takes to be successful in that next job interview.”
