Public feedback sought on proposed energy and conservation goals in Will County

WILL COUNTY -- The Resource Recovery and Energy Division of the Will County Land Use Department is seeking feedback from Will County residents and workers on proposed County energy and conservation goals.

The four-minute survey asks for input on goals pertaining to energy resources, water conservation, reuse and recycling, educational efforts and local transportation. Responses will influence the goals that are ultimately included in Will County’s 2021 Energy & Conservation Plan, currently in its draft phase.

“This plan will serve as a guiding document for the county on the many ongoing and future county initiatives related to our energy, water, natural and man-made resources,” said County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant. “Your feedback is needed to ensure the county takes a holistic approach to setting and reaching our intended goals.”

As an update to Will County’s 2012 Energy Efficiency & Conservation Plan, the 2021 Plan outlines Will County's progress and goals pertaining to sustainability initiatives both planned and undertaken in recent years.

The feedback will guide Will County to determine goals and initiatives. The survey will be open for comments until April 6. The final version of the document is expected to be published in June.
