Will County Offering Fire Extinguisher Recycling

The Will County Resource Recovery and Energy (RRE) Division is now offering free fire extinguisher recycling, with year-round drop-off locations available in New Lenox, Peotone, and Wheatland Township.

“Homeowners and businesses should frequently be checking the expiration date on fire extinguishers,” said County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant. “This service offers an environmentally friendly option for recycling those expired extinguishers. I appreciate our local partners for hosting these drop-off locations.”

The following locations are available for drop-off:

  • New Lenox, New Lenox Township Office (1100 S Cedar Rd, New Lenox) – Monday-Friday: 1-3 p.m. and 4th Saturday of every month: 8 a.m.-noon
  • Peotone, Peotone Village Hall (208 E Main St, Peotone) – Monday-Friday: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Naperville, Wheatland Township (4232 Tower Ct, Naperville) – Monday-Friday: 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

The RRE Division is partnering with Integrity Fire Equipment of Joliet for recycling all extinguishers. Unwanted extinguishers from both residents and businesses are welcome.
