I am honored to serve as your Will County Executive. As a lifelong resident of this great county, I have witnessed many changes as we have evolved from an ag-community to a major hub in the global distribution market.  I am dedicated to building upon this status but I am equally dedicated to maintaining the quality of life for the nearly 700,000 residents and thousands of businesses and organizations that call Will County home.

Will County Seeking Applicants for Community Mental Health Board

The voters of Will County approved by referenda the creation of a Community Mental Health Board in November, 2022. The State of Illinois created opportunity for local communities to approve the creation of these boards under the Community Mental Health Act.

The Community Mental Health Board is responsible for planning, coordinating, evaluating and allocating funds for mental health resources within Will County. Throughout 2023, the board will be working to establish a framework to operate and prioritize resources within the community.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant invites the public to apply to serve on this newly established volunteer Board. Applications of selected board members will be voted on by the Will County Board before their appointment is finalized.

Requirements:

  • Resident of Will County.
  • Shall not be a full-time or part-time employee of the Illinois Department of Human Services.
  • Shall not receive compensation from or serve as a board member for any entity that will seek funding or contracts from the Community Mental Health Board.
  • Board members should preferably represent a diverse cross-section of interested groups within the community.

Board members will be appointed to staggered terms during the initial four-year term. Following the staggered terms, all board member terms will be for a period of four years.
