The Will County Land Use Department’s Resource Recovery and Energy Division and Lewis University once again are teaming up to offer an environmentally sound way to get rid of jack-o-lanterns and documents.

Workforce Services Division of Will County has announced the Mobile Workforce Center’s November schedule, with stops in six communities.

The Workforce Center of Will County November schedule, which includes workshops offered by the Workforce Services Division of Will County, Illinois Department of Employment Security and Joliet Junior College, has been released.

     Lt. Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti and Illinois Department of Public Health Director Nirav Shah co-chaired a public hearing by the Governor’s Opioid Prevention and Intervention Task Force Wednesday in Chicago.

     Will County residents who have their pets spayed or neutered at participating veterinary offices in October can receive a $40 county-sponsored discount.

Area job seekers are invited to attend a weekly job fair at the Workforce Center of Will County from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19.

     Following the release of his proposed FY 2018 budget to the Will County Board, County Executive Larry Walsh again renewed his call to eliminate the Will County Public Building Commission (PBC) despite opposition from Will County Board leadership.  Walsh said this move supports the county’s continued efforts to consolidate government services and improve efficiency.

     Will County Executive Larry Walsh has been invited by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Governor Bruce Rauner to join a committee to locate the second headquarters of Amazon to northeastern Illinois.
