Clothes 4 Work program opens at Will County Center for Community Concerns
JOLIET – After six years, job seekers who need clothes for interviews or work will be looking in a different “closet.”
Workforce Services Division of Will County has moved to 2400 Glenwood Ave. and, because of changes in federal legislation regarding its mission, will be sharing space with other organizations.
“Because we have other workforce partners moving into our new offices we didn’t feel like we had the space for the Clothes 4 Work clothes closet any longer,” said WSD Administrative Manager Susan Flessner. “Rather than scrap the idea, we consulted with Will County Center for Community Concerns and they offered to take it over.
“It is a great partnership, as well as convenient for our customers since our new office is right across the street from WCCCC.”
Kris White, Executive Director of Will County Center for Community Concerns, is happy about the collaboration.
“We are very pleased to have this opportunity to partner with Will County’s Workforce Services Division to house and administer their Clothes 4 Work program. WCCCC already offers programs such as Job Coaching and Training, Employment Support and a scholarship program to assist people who are preparing to enter the workforce, so it makes sense to add this component to our menu of services.
“Our agency appreciates this opportunity to collaborate with Susan Flessner and her staff, and we believe this latest partnership with Workforce Services will not only strengthen that relationship, but will enhance the services provided to our Will County community.”
White said her agency is already accepting work-quality clothing.
WCCCC is at 2455 Glenwood Ave. It is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, except for holidays. The Center’s telephone number is (815) 722-0722.
Workforce Services Division of Will County opened at the Workforce Center of Will County at 2400 Glenwood Ave. on Monday, Nov. 23. For additional information about the WSD, go to www.jobs4people.org.
