Job Title	Emergency Management Curriculum Development Intern

Job Summary	The Will County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Internship is a 12-week program designed to provide participants with hands-on experience in emergency preparedness education, youth outreach, and curriculum development. The Curriculum Development Intern will assist with creating engaging, age-appropriate educational materials and lesson plans for middle school and junior high school preparedness presentations and educational visits conducted by EMA staff and volunteers. This position will support the agency’s public preparedness mission by helping develop interactive educational programming focused on severe weather safety, disaster preparedness, emergency planning, and community resilience. The internship provides practical experience in instructional design, public education, emergency management outreach, and youth engagement. This is an on-site position with occasional local travel for educational visits and outreach events.
Minimum Qualifications	Current undergraduate or graduate student preferred in: Emergency Management, Education, Communications, Public Health, Instructional Design or related field. Valid State of Illinois Driver’s License and minimum automobile insurance as required by law.
Salary Range	$18.00/hr. (Minimum Compensation) - $21.00/hr. (Maximum Compensation) Under the Illinois Paid Leave For All Workers Act (PLAWA) one (1) hour of paid leave for every 40 hours worked will be available after ninety (90) days of employment. Interns are not eligible for additional benefits.
