Due to predicted record breaking low temperatures Will County Executive Larry Walsh closes all county buildings on Weds. Jan. 30

WILL COUNTY – Will County Executive Larry Walsh and the acting Chief Judge David Carlson have announced the closure of most County buildings on Wednesday, Jan. 30, and they will reopen at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31.

“With the predicted record low temperatures, the acting Chief Judge and I have agreed it is wise to close most County buildings on Wednesday to ensure the safety of our employees and our residents” Walsh said. “And we strongly encourage members of the public to stay home tomorrow unless it is absolutely necessary.”

Per the Acting Chief Judge, cases that are scheduled to be heard on Wednesday, Jan. 30, and the morning of Thursday, Jan. 31, will be heard at 1:00 p.m. in their respective courtrooms.

"The office closings will not affect our around-the-clock operations. 24/7 Agencies such as the Will County Sheriff’s Department, Laraway Communications Center 9-1-1 Dispatch, detention facilities, Sunny Hill Nursing Home, the Will County Coroner, and other functions deemed essential will remain fully staffed."
