I am honored to serve as your Will County Executive. As a lifelong resident of this great county, I have witnessed many changes as we have evolved from an ag-community to a major hub in the global distribution market.  I am dedicated to building upon this status but I am equally dedicated to maintaining the quality of life for the nearly 700,000 residents and thousands of businesses and organizations that call Will County home.

Mobile Workforce Center’s November schedule released

Mobile Workforce Center’s November schedule released

The Mobile Workforce Center of Will County’s November schedule has been announced.

The mobile unit travels throughout Will County to help residents with resume development, cover letters and job applications. The workforce center contains 11 computer stations, internet access, and offers keyboarding lessons, as well as resume and job search assistance using online listings including jobs4people.org and Illinois WorkNet.

The Mobile Workforce Center will be at Fountaindale Public Library, 300 W. Briarcliff, Bolingbrook, from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Mondays, except Veterans Day, Nov. 11.

On Tuesdays, the center will be at University Park Village Hall, 698 Burnham Drive, in University Park, from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The center will be at the Monee Park District, 5218 W. Court St., Monee, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Plainfield Public Library, 15025 S. Illinois St., Plainfield, will host the Mobile Workforce Center from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.

The MWC can be found at the Wilmington Public Library District, 201 S. Kankakee St., Wilmington, from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. every Thursday, except for Thanksgiving, Thurs. Nov. 28.

It will be at Frankfort Public Library District, 21119 S. Pfeiffer Road, from 9:30 a.m. to noon, and at Mokena Community Public Library, 11327 W. 195th St., Mokena, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Fridays, except on Fri. Nov. 29 in observation of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Since Jan. 1, job search workshops offered at the Workforce Center of Will County have been made available via broadcast on Facebook Live to the Mobile Workforce Center. The November schedule is as follows:

Alison Orientation – 10:30 a.m., Tues. Nov. 5, University Park Village Hall.

Job Readiness – 9:30 a.m., Weds. Nov. 20 Plainfield Public Library.

Master Your Job Search – 1:30 p.m., Mon. Nov. 25, Fountaindale Public Library, Bolingbrook.

Microsoft PowerPoint – 10:00 a.m., Thurs. Nov.14, Wilmington Public Library District.

Network Tools for Today’s Job Market – 10:00 a.m., Thurs. Nov. 21, Wilmington Public Library District.

Successful Interviewing – 10:30 a.m., Mon. Nov. 18, Fountaindale Public Library, Bolingbrook.

Illinois JobLink – 11:00 a.m., Tues. Nov. 12, University Park Village Hall.

LinkedIn Lab – 1:30 p.m., Fri. Nov. 15, Mokena Community Public Library.

Microsoft Excel - 10:30 a.m., Weds. Nov. 20, Plainfield Public Library.

Microsoft Word – 2:00 p.m., Mon. Nov. 18, Fountaindale Public Library, Bolingbrook.

Standout Resumes – 1:30 p.m., Weds. Nov. 16, Plainfield Public Library.

County Executive Larry Walsh encourages job seekers to take advantage of the service, which is offered at no cost to County residents.

Susan Flessner, administrative manager of the Workforce Services Division, said, “We’re broadcasting these workshops to the Mobile Workshop Center in order to make it easier for people in other parts of the county to have access to them.”
