Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant Will County Executive

I am honored to serve as your Will County Executive. As a lifelong resident of this great county, I have witnessed many changes as we have evolved from an ag-community to a major hub in the global distribution market.  I am dedicated to building upon this status but I am equally dedicated to maintaining the quality of life for the nearly 700,000 residents and thousands of businesses and organizations that call Will County home.

Please explore our website which is filled with important information about services and departments within the County Executive office as well as connections to other county officials’ websites.

Will County is diverse, vibrant and filled with hard-working people. We have room to grow and we look forward to a great future.

Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, Will County Executive

Will County Launches Planning Process for Housing and Community Development

The Will County Community Development Division is launching the process to update the county’s Consolidated Plan for 2025-2029, which provides direction on housing and community development projects over the next five years. The plan guides the allocation of federal funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), including Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funding.

The plan provides strategic guidance on how to address the community development, affordable housing, and homeless needs within Will County. The overall goal of the plan and its associated programs is to meet the needs of low- and moderate-income residents in the community.

The strategic plan focuses on the following goals, specifically in divested areas:

  • Providing decent, affordable housing
  • Creating suitable living environments
  • Expanding economic opportunities.

Residents in Will County are strongly encouraged to actively participate in this plan by attending community forums and providing feedback online. Engagement opportunities include:
