Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant Will County Executive

I am honored to serve as your Will County Executive. As a lifelong resident of this great county, I have witnessed many changes as we have evolved from an ag-community to a major hub in the global distribution market.  I am dedicated to building upon this status but I am equally dedicated to maintaining the quality of life for the nearly 700,000 residents and thousands of businesses and organizations that call Will County home.

Please explore our website which is filled with important information about services and departments within the County Executive office as well as connections to other county officials’ websites.

Will County is diverse, vibrant and filled with hard-working people. We have room to grow and we look forward to a great future.

Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant, Will County Executive

Will County Offers String Light Recycling All Year

As you’re taking down holiday decorations, please consider recycling your unused or damaged holiday string lights that could spend decades in a landfill.

The Will County Resource Recovery and Energy Division offers year-round recycling for electronics, including string lights. There are also three Joliet drop-box locations for only string light recycling that will be up until January 31, 2024:

  • County Office Building, 302 N. Chicago St, Joliet (M-F, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
  • Land Use Department, 58 E. Clinton St, Joliet (M-F, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
  • Sunny Hill Nursing Home, 421 Doris Ave, Joliet (daily, 8:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.)

Drop offs must happen during regular business hours and are only for string light recycling at these temporary drop-box locations. Boxes are located inside the main entrances of the buildings listed above.

More information on year-round electronics collection sites can be found at www.willcountygreen.com.
