2019 Hero Helps Community Summit to address Medication-Assisted Treatment for opioid use disorder

During this year’s Hero Helps Community Summit, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) will be addressed by a panel discussion of local providers. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, MAT is an effective part of long term recovery when used with ongoing counseling and assistance in developing a healthy lifestyle.

WCWC releases April workshop schedule

The Workforce Center of Will County April schedule has been released.

Career Cafe will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays, April 2 and 16. Career Cafe is a networking event designed to connect people looking for work. In addition to sharing tips with other job seekers and learning job search techniques, participants will hear from guest speakers sharing their hiring expertise.

April Mobile Workforce Center schedule released

The April schedule for the Mobile Workforce Center of Will County has been released.

The mobile unit travels throughout Will County to help residents with resume development, cover letters and job applications. The workforce center contains 11 computer stations, internet access, and offers keyboarding lessons, as well as resume and job search assistance using online listings including jobs4people.org and Illinois workNet.

Will County officials explain county efforts in the opioid crisis to HHS Regional Director O’Brien

The Will County Board hosted United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Regional Director Doug O’Brien at its Committee of the Whole meeting Thursday, March 14. O’Brien provided an update about federal efforts in the opioid crisis and heard from several department heads about programs in the county.
