WILL COUNTY – Will County Executive Larry Walsh and the acting Chief Judge David Carlson have announced the closure of most County buildings on Wednesday, Jan. 30, and they will reopen at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31.

Will County Veterans Assistance Commission to host "planning for your family's needs -- now and in the future" at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2019 at the Will County Office Building, 302 N. Chicago Street, Joliet.

Warming centers are available throughout Will County for those who need respite from the predicted frigid temperatures through next week.

Area job seekers are invited to attend a weekly job fair from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the Workforce Center of Will County.

The Workforce Center of Will County February schedule has been released. Career Cafe will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays, Feb. 5 and 19. Career Cafe is a networking event designed to connect people looking for work. In addition to sharing tips with other job seekers and learning job search techniques, participants will hear from guest speakers sharing their hiring expertise.

JTHS Hosting Wake Up Call Substance Abuse Awareness Event

Joliet Township High School will host a Wake-Up Call Substance Abuse Awareness Event on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 6:30-8:00 PM at Joliet West High School, 401 N. Larkin Avenue. The event is free and open to all members of the public 21 years of age and older. Dinner will be provided from 5:00-6:15 PM and a resource fair will take place from 5:00-6:30 PM. Free childcare is available.

On December 19, the one year anniversary of the groundbreaking of the new Will County Courthouse, County Executive Larry Walsh met with members of organized labor on the tenth floor of the new structure to thank them for the diligent work over the past year.

JOLIET – The Will County Office Building, 302 N. Chicago St., will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 in observance of Christmas and New Year’s Day. Normal office hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., will resume the day after each holiday.
