Workforce Services Division of Will County has announced the Mobile Workforce Center’s May schedule, with stops in six communities.

The 2017 HERO-HELPS Southwest Coalition Community Summit will focus on innovative strategies Will, DuPage, Lake, and Cook counties are implementing under the Illinois Prescription Opioid Overdose Prevention grant.The event will be held from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 21, at the Edward Hospital Athletic Center, 55 Phelps Ave.

     The abuse of prescription opioids, heroin and/or fentanyl claimed at least 1,000 lives in Northeastern Illinois last year, and the devastating final tallies are expected to rise significantly as local coroners and medical examiners continue compiling 2016 statistics.

Area job seekers are invited to attend a weekly job fair hosted by the Workforce Services Division of Will County and the Illinois Department of Employment Security from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at the Workforce Center of Will County.

Workforce Services Division of Will County has announced the Mobile Workforce Center’s April schedule, with stops in six communities.

The Workforce Center of Will County April schedule, which includes workshops offered by the Workforce Services Division of Will County, Illinois Department of Employment Security and Joliet Junior College, has been released.

     At the March meeting of the Will County Board, members voted to adopt the Long Range Transportation Plan known as Will Connects 2040. This plan will be a blueprint to transform the county’s transportation plan over the next 25 years.

Area job seekers are invited to attend a weekly job fair hosted by the Workforce Services Division of Will County and the Illinois Department of Employment Security from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 23, at the Workforce Center of Will County.

At the February meeting of the Will County Board, longtime employee Jeff Ronaldson was named Director of Transportation, replacing Bruce Gould who retired after 40 years of service to the county.

Ronaldson has spent his entire career with the Will County Division of Transportation, joining the county upon graduation from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in June 1997. Ronaldson worked directly under Gould for more than 19 years where he learned firsthand how to manage the county’s growing highway department.
