Area job seekers are invited to attend a weekly job fair at the Workforce Center of Will County from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 6.

Total budget of $551 million reflects lower tax rate; Calls for further consolidation of governmental services while funding key priorities

      At today’s meeting of the Will County Board, County Executive Larry Walsh presented his 2018 budget.  Thisnew $551 million budget is balanced with a property tax rate of 1.5% lower than 2016.

      Area job seekers are invited to attend a weekly job fair at the Workforce Center of Will County from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27.

     The Will County Mobile Workforce Center will be making several stops in October to communities around the county. The mobile center offers state of the art computers local residents can access to help in job searches. Assistance is also available in the following areas:

     A lifelong resident of Joliet, Caroline Portlock said she looks forward to helping local business grow in her new role as director of the Will County Workforce Investment Board. She is assuming the position Pat Fera held for nearly 17 years.

     A 20-year veteran of the United States Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps has joined Will County as its new Facility Management Director. The new position is responsible for the numerous buildings that are part of the county-wide operations.
