Longtime Will County Director of Land Use Department Set to Retire

           Curt Paddock, director of the Will County Land Use Department since 2005, has announced he will retire at the end of the month.

         “Curt has led our land use department through many changes over the past 12 years,” said Will County Executive Larry Walsh. “He has embraced new technology and best practices for land use management and has helped keep our county moving forward. I will be sad to see him go but wish him all the best as he retires and moves onto the next chapters of his life.”

Will County reaches top tier solar designation

by the International City/County Management Association

     The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) has recognized Will County again as a solar-leading community in the 2017 SolSmart Program. The program is a component of the larger SunShot Initiative, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, a national effort to drive down the cost and regulatory obstacles of home and business solar deployment.

Will County raises Illinois Bicentennial flag celebrating 200th birthday

Will County Executive Larry Walsh and other local officials honored the 200th birthday of the State of Illinois today by raising the Illinois Bicentennial flag at the Will County Office Building, 302 N. Chicago Street in Joliet. A yearlong celebration will commemorate the state’s milestone birthday.
