Mobile Workforce Center’s January schedule announced

JOLIET – The Mobile Workforce Center’s January schedule has been announced by the Workforce Services Division of Will County.

     The mobile unit travels throughout Will County to help residents with resume development, cover letters and job applications. The workforce center contains 11 computer stations, internet access, and offers keyboarding lessons, as well as resume and job search assistance using online listings including jobs4people.org and Illinois workNet.

Workforce Services Division releases January workshop schedule

   JOLIET – Workforce Services Division of Will County has scheduled its January workshops for job seekers.

     Participants will learn interviewing techniques at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, in Successful Interviewing. Learn how to prepare for a job interview, be confident and make a positive impression. Attendees may schedule an individual, digitally recorded mock interview after completing the workshop. 

New Lenox family with passion for gardening named winner of 2014 America Recycles Day Photo Contest

     JOLIET – A passion for digging in the dirt and growing their own food has yielded much more than a healthy crop for the Viebach family of New Lenox. John and Jamie Viebach, along with their son, Liam, were chosen as the winners of the 2014 America Recycles Day Photo Contest sponsored by the Will County Land Use Department. The family was awarded a recycled iPad provided by Vintage Tech Recyclers.

Workforce Services Division releases December workshop schedule

JOLIET – Workforce Services Division of Will County has scheduled its December workshops for job seekers. Standout Resumes will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3. Attendees will learn the basics of creating a competitive resume and may then schedule one-on-one resume reviews with WSD staff.

Will County Passes 2015 Budget

JOLIET – At today’s meeting, the Will County Board passed its 2015 budget. In a 13-13 split vote, County Executive Larry Walsh cast the vote to approve the $464 million budget. 

    “I am proud of the members of the Will County Board who chose to approve the 2015 budget," said County Executive Larry Walsh. “It is important that we continue to be fiscally responsible with our taxpayer dollars. It is also essential that we act today and plan proactively for our needs of tomorrow.

Governor Quinn Announces Major I-55/Weber Road Improvement Project Moving Forward Reconstructed Interchange and Weber Road Upgrades Will Accommodate Increased Traffic - Oct. 27, 2014

ROMEOVILLE – Governor Pat Quinn today announced that the $69.2 million Interstate 55/Weber Road improvement project in Will County is moving forward, with the first construction projects to be awarded soon. The state of Illinois and Will County are sharing the cost of the project, with the state's share coming from Governor Quinn's Illinois Jobs Now! capital construction program

Road Work Planned for U.S. 6 in Will County - Sunday, October 26, 2014

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) today announced that roadwork will begin on both directions of U.S. 6, between McClintock Road and Interstate 55, in Will County, for a pavement resurfacing project. The project will begin; weather permitting, on Monday, Oct. 27, with a tentative completion date of late November.
