Walsh to be honored at Solid Gold brunch on Sunday, Oct. 28

JOLIET – Will County Executive Larry Walsh will be awarded the Spirit of Community Caring Award at the Solid Gold and Glorious 50th Anniversary Celebration Brunch.

The event is the final event of the year-long celebration of the 50th anniversary of the passing of the county referendum on Nov. 5, 1968, that established Sunny Hill Nursing Home of Will County.

Brunch is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Renaissance Center of Joliet, 214 N. Ottawa St. Cost is $50 per person.

Previous Community Caring Award winners are Richard Tezak Sr. and KSKJ, American Slovenian Catholic Union, Lodge No. 2.

The event benefits The Friends of Sunny Hill and its mission to assist in “friend-raising” and fundraising to provide the highest quality of life for residents of the county-owned facility.
