The Will County Division of Transportation (DOT) is hosting two public information open houses in October about the future of Wilmington-Peotone Road, between Interstate 55 and Drecksler Road.

Recyclepalooza returns to New Lenox this Saturday, offering free recycling for electronics, household hazardous waste, metal, wood, clothing, books, toys, and more. 

A “Healthy Lifestyle Event” will be hosted in University Park to provide produce, healthcare services, and community resources on Thursday, August 29 at the University Park Village Hall, 90 Towncenter Dr.

The drive-up event will be held at the Will County Office Building located at 302 N. Chicago Street, Joliet, IL 60432.

The Will County Division of Transportation (DOT) will hold a Public Information Meeting to share improvement options and hear public input for the Mills Road-Cherry Hill Road Phase I Study. The meeting will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 in Rooms C and D at the Nowell Park Recreation Center, 199 Mills Road, Joliet, IL 60433.

Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant and the Will County Community Development Division will be hosting a community event from 10 AM to 3 PM on June 22 at the Fairmont Community Center, 525 Barry Avenue. The event will feature family-friendly activities, a resource fair, a food giveaway, and a community planning activity focused on the future of the Fairmont neighborhood.

A “Healthy Lifestyle Event” will be hosted in Joliet to provide produce, vegetables, and healthcare resources on Friday, June 21 at All Nation Church of God, 507 Water Street.

The Workforce Services Division will host a Job Fair from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on May 29th at the Lockport Township Building, 1463 Farrell Road. The event is free and open to the public.

The Will County Resource Recovery and Energy (RRE) Division will host its annual three-day book event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, May 31, and Saturday-Sunday, June 1-2, at Joliet Park District’s Pilcher Park Nature Center, 2501 Highland Park Drive.
