During the 2018 Hero Helps Community Summit, slated for 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 at the Edward Hospital Athletic and Event Center in Romeoville, Ill., training on the delivery of naloxone or Narcan will be available to the public.

FRANKFORT TOWNSHIP -- Frankfort Township has become host to Will County’s newest permanent electronic recycling site. Its first collection date will be Tuesday, March 13.

In an effort to shorten lines and wait times, the Resource Recovery and Energy Division of the Will County Land Use Department has implemented an appointment system for its collection events.

Will County has been awarded the 2018 Engineering Excellence “Honor Award” and “Best in Category” for its Will County Community Friendly Freight Mobility Plan by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Illinois. The council described the county’s plan as innovative and collaborative.

JOLIET – The Workforce Center of Will County March schedule, which includes workshops offered by the Workforce Services Division of Will County, Illinois Department of Employment Security and Joliet Junior College, has been released.

WILL COUNTY – Workforce Services Division of Will County has announced the Mobile Workforce Center’s March schedule, with stops in six communities.

Riverside Community Health Center has partnered with a global drug manufacturer to offer Vivitrol to patients with an opioid addiction. This medication has proven an effective method for long-term treatment of opioid addiction. Vivitrol is the manufacturer’s name for naltrexone a non-addictive, monthly treatment proven to prevent relapse in opioid dependent patients when used with counseling. 

A desire to work with senior citizens and having visited Sunny Hill Nursing Home of Will County to visit a friend’s relative made becoming the assistant adminstrator there a natural fit for Deirdre Manigo.

Will County officials on Tuesday hosted a group of 50 members of the Illinois Realtors Association. The event was an exchange of information between a number of county offices, including the County Executive, the County Board, the Supervisor of Assessments, the Recorder of Deeds, the County Treasurer, and the Circuit Courts.
