New pocket guide highlights iconic destinations in Illinois along historic Route 66

     A partnership between Will County and the Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has produced a new pocket guide which highlights locations along the Illinois portion of historic Route 66. The guide gives a detailed listing of restaurants and other iconic sights along the first interstate roadway in the United States.

Workforce Center of Will County to host weekly job fair August 10

          Area job seekers are invited to attend a weekly job fair at the Workforce Center of Will County from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 10.

            Among the positions employers will be looking to fill are bus drivers, dishwashers, dock workers, forklift operators, galvanizing associates, general laborers/lumper, housekeepers, independent living coach, maintenance technicians, marketing representatives, picker/packer, program specialist, security officers, servers, shift supervisors, tasker/scheduler, truck driver, warehouse material handlers, and more.

Will County recognized as a solar-leading community by The International City/County Management Association

The International City/County Management Association (ICMA) has recognized Will County as a solar-leading community in the 2017 SolSmart Program. The program is a component of the larger SunShot Initiative, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, a national effort to drive down the cost of solar electricity and support solar adoption.

Will County lauded for effectively ending homelessness among veterans

Success attributed to local and federal partnerships
The United States Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH), the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Veterans Affairs has confirmed that the Will County Continuum of Care has effectively ended homelessness among veterans in the county.
